As promised last week, CASP has published a resource paper for school psychology practice under COVID-19 with assessment guidance, including a summary of methods required for evaluations, both in-person and virtual assessment considerations, and a reminder of the legal and ethical guidelines mandated by both our state and national professional organizations. Please note that this document does not contain legal advice and should not be relied upon to establish the regulatory provision of services by public or privately licensed and/or certifiable practitioners in any jurisdiction.
You may also wish to refer to our COVID-19 resource page, our original position from April, as well as this member-generated example of a socially distant way to set up a conference room to give in-person assessments, and a member-created list of resources. Also keep an eye out for upcoming “Couch Chats” for you to discuss giving assessments during this pandemic with fellow school psychologists.
